New member in our backyard
Hahaha.... enough of expensive Lemon grass and mint leaves. Let's welcome the two new member of my herbs nursery at our backyard.
We have been shopping around for the Lemon grass and curry leave plant for our garden. Finally, we found the lemon grass.
~Shh... ~shh... ~shh... To all my readers : Please do not tell my grandma that this small pot cost me $5.00. She would definitely mad at me and thinks herself could become millionaire if she can sells her backyard herb's bushes.
I missed Malaysia even more when I saw the description tells it is used in Malaysian cooking.

Mid Autumn Festival
Mid Autumn Festival a.k.a Moon Cake Festival a.k.a Lantern Festival is one of the biggest celebrations for Chinese back in my home country, Malaysia . However, in Melbourne we only find people selling moon cake and that’s all.
Those days, when I was a kid, we wait for Mid Autumn Festival to play lantern and candles. We gathered around with family & friends, and we enjoyed the moon cake, the water caltrop, the mini yam, groundnuts etc especially the water caltrop and mini yam, which you only find them available during this time of the year from the market.
We even play “masak-masak” with leaves and whatever “unlucky” creatures we can find from the garden ground.

My first lantern was a dragon-shaped lantern made of coloured glass paper. I wish to could get one of those for Yong Shuan when he knows how to play.
This year we got the paper made Japanese lantern from sis. We decorated our deck and snapped a few photos. If you look carefully, I have used the paper clip to hang these lanterns. There was no wind the other night, but we still feel very cold out there. After sometimes setting the camera, our fingers all numb and we can't wait to get back into the house.

Yong Shuan's Immunisation Schedule
Today is Yong Shuan's 2 months vaccine schedule for
i. Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping Cough) & Poliomyelitis
ii. Combined Haemophilus InfluenzaeType B & Hepatitis B
iii. Child Pneumococcal
iv. Rotavirus
Even myself is shocked when the nurse told us YS need to have 3 shots and one oral vaccine. How can a small boy take all these? It's "heartache" when I saw the nurse put the injection, though she was quick, still PAINFUL for any baby to take these external agent into their body.
The nurse has written on YS's "blue book" his next appointment is 2 months later, November.

Fever
Yong Shuan is having fever after his 3 immunization shot yesterday evening (should be 4 included 1 oral vaccine). Yong Shuan body temperature raised to 38.9 degree Celsius midnight this morning.
Luckily Shao Wen bought the Children Panadol on our way home. After YS had the Panadol the temperature came down to 37.4 at this point when I am putting this entry. However, grandparents need not worry, nurse did mentioned this side effect is all normal.

YS's first Malay word
I heard this many times from mum to her grandson - Yong Shuan. Personally, I think this is something meaningful to share in my blog for Yong Shuan and Mum.
.....
the first Bahasa Melayu Yong Shuan learn is
.....
.....
**drums** ~tang ~tang ~tang ~tang
.....
"SAYANG"
#1 - " oh... ah ma (grandma) sayang sayang"
#2 - " oh... your mummy (which refer to me) sayang sayang"
Sayang

My 100th Blog Entry
This is my 100th blog entry. To make it meaningful, I will write something to remind myself which could bored some of the readers out there.
It's now coming to the 19th month we have been working here in Melbourne. This was a big change in the beginning for me and Shao Wen to adapt to the new life here; not to mention we gave up many precious things in our life. I would like to list some of the things I wish I could accomplish before Easter this year.
1- Healthy Meal
Practice more healthy meal. It does not matter if vegetarian or other type of cuisine as long as not too oily, not too salty, last but not least not too SWEET. We are now practicing vegetarian meal occasionally according to the Chinese lunar calendar. I hope I could have more healthy meals in my cooking and be selective at restaurant's food.
This might help Yong Shuan bowel movement since he is still having hard time everyday ... just to poo... some of you may wonder what has that to do with YS's poo, it is just simply because he is still being breastfed.
2- Holiday
Preferably a beach vacation with Yong Shuan and Shao Wen at the seaside.. I am looking forward for a hot and humid one perhaps in Malaysia when we have our Chinese New Year break.
3- Spend more time and Ca$h on reading
Someone suggested to me years ago is good to spend 10% of my earning to books. It has been a long time since my last purchase of reading material after my Internet is connected. Secondly, is hard to find one Chinese book store in Melbourne unlike Popular Book store which is in almost every shopping places in Malaysia.
4- Shopping
eh... I can't remember when was my last shopping for myself and Shao Wen? We did quite some shopping before Yong Shuan was born, however all of these are for him such like the cot, the car seat, the thermos flask, the bottles, the nappies. I guess when someone steps into parenthood, they will focus more on their child needs rather than themselves. These explain why our parents only buy cloths for themselves on Chinese New Year. (Come on.. KC. Let 's ignore the money issue for just a sec!)
5- Watch movies in Cinema
Again, I can't remember what was the last movie I watched in the cinema. I only can recall the one in the IMAX which was something sounded like "Night time in Museum" (I can't recall the exact movie title) which tells what happened in the museum after sunset. Ever since the nearest cinema closed for renovation, we never explore another "closest to our area" cinema.
* shhh. shhh..... on top of all, beside #1 in the list, I think I should put TO WIN LOTTO, :) this is somehow important to make a lot of dreams to come true ...
